This colour must be mixed with developer - the dedicated Wella Color Charm 20 Vol Developer is recommended.
Always mix Wella Color Charm Permanent Hair Colour in a 1:2 mixing ratio. This means you need twice the amount of developer to colour.
One 107ml bottle of Developer is enough for one bottle of 42ml Permanent Colour.
Apply the Permanent Colour to dry hair and allow to develop for 30 minutes or up to 45 minutes for additional depth or grey coverage.
It really is like the strand shown in the picture but that is also very much a golden ash, Really I think it’s the closest to a natural ash blonde colour, which is a shade or two lighter than my natural hair colour (a dark ash blonde), I used this to shadow my roots on my silver/ash blonde hair so the my regrowth blends in and it’s perfect! I really love it so I think as a ombré/shadowing it works really well, and I’d say it’s a safe colour to go if your looking for some texture in a natural golden/beige blonde Look too. Note that I had bleached 12 and 10 hair before using, so if you want the colour in the picture, it will lighten over a darker blonde but still safer to pre lighten To get the right tone, it also helped to get rid of a slight yellow tone that I had in my hair so when I say it’s a golden ash I mean like 70s perfect ash golden blonde not brassy yellow bleach fail blonde - iv used wella colour charms heaps now and 100% recommend them as fail proof colours, hopefully that all makes sense and is helpful! Also delivery arrived in the eta time frame and I received a hand written note with my package, which always goes to show the owners love for their business :)
I used this to tone the orange out of hair, and it worked to get the orange out of bleached hair but now my hair is like ash brown instead ash blonde.
Hi Sam, Sorry to hear you didn't get the look you were for. Orange hair sits around a level 7/8 - which when toned will produce a brown result. As well as this, ash colours often appear darker in the hair. This colour is perfect for removing orange tones from the hair, but colour can't make your hair lighter! In order to get to an ash blonde, you'll need to be a pale yellow first (think the inside of a lemon peel). I hope this helps
Thanks for the help with choosing this colour Sarah, it worked perfectly. It has taken the brassy tones out of my light brown hair. My hair actually feels and looks healthier after colouring it. I'm so glad I found the Tint Department, I can now colour my hair at home.
This colour really gives my hair a natural look with no brassy tones. Pretty much takes my hair back to its original colour.
Helped tone my yellow hair and gave it a light ashy look. It lasted way longer than the toners so I would highly recommend!
